The law caught up with a Toledo, OH, man who was captured on video working on a roofing job while receiving workers’ comp benefits.

Video shows Daniel Uribes not only working a roofing job, but also leaving the worksite to attend a hearing on his workers’ comp case, and then returning to the roofing job.

The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation investigated and shot the video of Uribes doing the roofing work. BWC started the investigation after obtaining evidence that Uribes was doing roofing work with his father while receiving Temporary Total Disability benefits for a workplace injury.

Uribes entered a no contest plea to a misdemeanor charge of workers’ comp fraud. The judge sentenced him to ten days in jail with credit for time served. Uribes has already paid his full restitution of $3,254.
