A groundskeeper was killed after he was hit in the head by a stray ball on a golf course.
Maurice Hayden, 42, was less than 30 yards from the player at the Mayfair Country Club in Sanford, FL, when he was struck in the temple by the sliced shot.
Hayden collapsed immediately after he was hit.
Paramedics tried to revive Hayden and rushed him to a nearby hospital. He was placed on life support and died a day later.
Officials said he’d been pulling weeds at the time. The golfer didn’t see the groundskeeper, and Hayden didn’t see the golfer.
The golfer won’t face charges.
