In attempt to save a life, an emergency responder lost his own.
Paramedic Dan McIntosh was the first on the scene of a 911 call in Bensalem, PA, trying to help a man who’d threatened to kill himself.
The man, Edwin Agosto, ran when the ambulance arrived.
McIntosh ran after him and then dropped to the ground.
He suffered a massive heart attack. The fall caused severe trauma to McIntosh’s head.
His own rescue crew rushed him to the hospital where the 39-year-old was pronounced dead. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
Agosto apologized to McIntosh’s family. “I did not want it to happen like this,” he said.
