OSHA will issue willful violations when it believes a company has ignored well established regulations.
That’s what happened when it recently issued citations against Sinton Dairy Foods Co. of Englewood, CO. OSHA issued one willful violation to the company for failure to follow an established preventive maintenance program for an anhydrous ammonia refrigeration system.
OSHA also issued serious violations concerning electrical hazards and mechanical integrity procedures for ammonia systems.
Total fine: $50,575.
Sinton has 15 days to comply, request a conference with OSHA or contest the fines.
