It’s a reminder for workers who operate or work near large moving equipment: Know where the equipment and your co-workers are at all times.
On May 10 at night, workers at a Waste Management plant in Antioch, TN, noticed one of their co-workers was missing.
Employees dumped out trash from semi-trucks and about a half hour later found the body of the missing worker buried in trash. The victim’s identity wasn’t released.
OSHA will investigate.
Police believe the man was standing near a large pile of trash when he got caught in front of a bulldozer that compacts garbage into trailers.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of death, although it’s believed the man suffocated.

Why is the word bizarre in the title of this story? What is bizarre about people not following safety procedures and being crushed by large equipment? Bizarre would be more along the lines of a bird landing in a tree causing the tree to topple over onto a worker who happened to be in the way when the tree landed. Am I wrong to feel irritated about the unnecessary usage of the word bizarre?
