A new survey seeks information that will help update a voluntary fall protection standard.
The online Fall Experience Survey from The Center for Construction Research and Training and the American Society of Safety Professionals asks for insights from safety pros on the root causes of falls from height.
Survey results will help the ANSI/ASSP Z359 Protection and Fall Restraint Committee enhance the ANSI voluntary fall protection standard.
“While data is available on the types and rates of fatal and non-fatal falls,” said Thomas Kramer, Z359 committee chair, “we don’t have enough information on the causes of those falls.”
The survey is now available and takes about 15 minutes. It asks safety pros for details about a fall incident they experienced, witnessed or investigated. Responses are anonymous.
The survey is open until April 30, 2021.
