A Florida sting operation saw the arrest of 14 contractors for failure to obtain workers’ compensation coverage.
The sting operation by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office was conducted to address unlicensed contractors working without required licenses and workers’ compensation insurance.
This operation resulted in 14 arrests and two direct files for failure to obtain workers’ compensation coverage and unlicensed contracting.
Those charged include:
- Daniel Martin Vandenwildenbeg, an electrical and plumbing contractor
- Aaron Joseph Prumm, an electrical and plumbing contractor
- Walter Jay Griggs, a plumbing contractor
- Travis Joel Boyer, an electrical and plumbing contractor
- Lorenc Serani, an electrical and plumbing contractor
- Aaron L Avalos, an electrical and plumbing contractor
- Marquis Gonzalez, an electrical and plumbing contractor
- Brian Craig Ferguson, an electrical and plumbing contractor
- Oscar Encarnacion, an electrical and plumbing contractor
- Rafael Morales, an electrical contractor
- William Chadwick Rowland, an electrical contractor
- Enzo Arduca, a plumbing contractor
- Daniel Lee Kittle, an electrical contractor, and
- Chad Everett Blecha, an electrical contractor.
The sting operation was conducted on August 8-10, 2023 by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the Division of Investigative and Forensic Services with the Florida Department of Financial Services, and the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
