An Illinois framing contractor with a history of OSHA violations was cited by the agency for again exposing employees to fall hazards.
On Aug. 23, 2023, inspectors observed the contractor’s employees working on a residential jobsite in Naperville, Illinois without fall protection while at heights of up to 20 feet.
OSHA cited the contractor for various fall protection violations, improper use of ladders and failure to recertify workers in the operation of powered industrial vehicles.
The contractor was cited by OSHA for similar violations seven previous times since 2015. It owes $238,572 in previous unpaid OSHA fines.

- ensure employees engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet or more above lower levels were protected from fall hazards by using guardrail, safety net or personal fall arrest systems

One serious violation for failing to:
- ensure that ladders weren’t used for anything other than what they were designed for
One other-than serious violation for failing to:
- evaluate powered industrial truck operators at least once every three years
