The Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) released two new safety infographics focused on keeping package delivery drivers safe from common hazards associated with the job.
With the proliferation of online retail companies, package delivery drivers are constantly on the go, and with that increased demand comes an increased likelihood of injury.
To help prevent these injuries, L&I created two new infographics, one for drivers and one for employers.
The infographic for delivery drivers is meant to help them avoid the most common hazards associated with the job, including those associated with:
- getting in and out of vehicles
- contact with animals
- lifting and carrying, and
- contact with objects.
L&I’s infographic for employers provides ergonomic steps they can take to reduce injuries among their delivery drivers.
The state agency also has a package delivery driver safety web page with more tips to keep drivers safe.
