An electrical contract worker was killed and another employee was critically injured after they fell 30 feet from a scissor lift.
Michael Leroy, an employee of Faith Technologies, was working at Hattiesburg Paper Co. in Howard, WI. He was killed after falling from the scissor lift that had been hit by a forklift operated by a Hattiesburg Paper employee.
A second Faith Technologies employee who was on the lift was injured.
After the men had fallen, the lift collapsed on top of them.
OSHA is investigating. The agency says Faith Technologies has been cited for safety violations many times in recent years. The paper company has received no OSHA citations.
It’s not known what caused the forklift to hit the scissor lift.
